Dancehall artiste Munga Honourable has now been freed of a murder charge stemming from the 2017 killing of Cleveland Smith in Ackee Walk, St Andrew.

The entertainer had spent several years before the courts in connection with the case. According to his attorney, Christopher Townsend, the court ruled that there were too many inconsistencies in the evidence presented by the prosecution’s sole eyewitness.

As a result, the case was dismissed and Munga Honourable was freed of the charge.

Sources close to the artiste say he is relieved to finally put the matter behind him and is now shifting his focus back to music, with plans already being discussed for an upcoming world tour, which will be powered by Life Line Entertainment.

Jamaican icon Shaggy continues to strengthen the global legacy of his timeless hit “Boombastic,” which has officially been certified 2x Platinum in New Zealand.

According to Recorded Music NZ, the classic crossover anthem has now surpassed 60,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents as of June 11, adding another international milestone to one of Shaggy’s most successful records. It marks Shaggy’s second consecutive Platinum certification in New Zealand, following “Hey Sexy Lady,” which recently achieved Platinum status in the country after surpassing 30,000 units.

Released in May 1995 through Virgin Records as the second single from his third studio album Boombastic, the song became one of Shaggy’s earliest global breakout hits. “Boombastic” was previously certified Platinum in the United States and United Kingdom, while also earning Platinum certifications in Australia and Norway, alongside Gold awards in Germany, Austria and France.

With more than 485 million Spotify streams and over 300 million YouTube views across its official audio and music video, the Grammy-winning anthem remains one of the defining records in Shaggy’s international catalog.

The New York Knicks are now just one win away from capturing their first NBA championship since 1973.

On this day, June 10, 2014, Jamaican dancehall superstar #Popcaan released his groundbreaking debut album Where We Come From, a project that would go on to play a critical role in launching his international career.

The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and has since accounted for over 130,000 album equivalent units, according to Luminate, contributing to Popcaan’s overall career total of more than one million units sold.

Packed with a bunch of great tracks including “Everything Nice,” “Hold On,” “The System,” “Love Yuh Bad,” and the iconic title track, the project helped establish the #UnrulyBoss as one of dancehall’s leading global voices.

The project’s blend of raw storytelling, infectious melodies, and authentic Jamaican culture helped cement Popcaan as a global force in music.

Originally released under Mixpak Records, the album was executive produced by longtime collaborator Dre Skull alongside an all-star production cast featuring Dubbel Dutch, Jamie "YVP" Roberts, Anju Blaxx, and Adde Instrumentals.

To commemorate the album’s 10th anniversary, Mixpak and Popcaan released a deluxe edition featuring two unreleased tracks and an acoustic version of the iconic title track.

Now, twelve years later, Where We Come From still stands as the album that launched the undeniable journey of one of Jamaica’s most influential modern artistes, proudly representing his home parish of Saint Thomas Parish.
