The Jack Daniel’s Backyaad BBQ Food & Music Festival is set to take place on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Port Royal Cruise Terminal. This year marks the festival's 7th anniversary, promising a day filled with performances by renowned artists such as Agent Sasco and international Afrobeat recording artiste Yung Wylin. Joining them on stage will be a lineup of local DJs including Bishop Escobar, DJ Mac, ZJ Romzi Nova, Fyahman, Baba, 1Jav, Vinchi, and DJ Dwayne, ensuring a diverse musical experience for all attendees.
“Agent Sasco has a strong catalog from the early 2000s filled with hits after hits. The choice to book him was a no-brainer. We wanted to choose acts that would come with the right message and the right energy”, said promoter of Backyaad BBQ, Carlton Davy. This is the same for his choice of Afrobeat star, Yung Wylin, who is known predominantly for his hit single ‘Good Energy’. He added, “Yung Wylin adds so much value to the event; we offer impeccable Jamaican cuisine, fashion, music, and great whiskey”.
From 4 pm to 10 pm, attendees can indulge in the flavors of up to 12 food vendors, including Plantain Smokehouse, Veggie Campus, Brishnells House of Flavor, Bad Dwag, Rocksteady Seafoods, and City Flames Grill (formerly known as Jungle Fiah). Davy highlighted the festival's commitment to showcasing and celebrating Jamaican cuisine, inviting both locals and tourists to join in this culinary journey.
“We are embracing and exploring Jamaican cuisine and inviting other Jamaicans and tourists, to embark on this culinary journey with us. We have partnered with Jack Daniels for the last 7 years to create a wholesome experience for all to enjoy”, added Davy.
