R&B singer Akon is set to headline the Sybaritic Wknd in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on July 27 at the Aqueduct in Rosehall, at the all-white event titled Diamond Dreamz.
Akon, the globally acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, is celebrated for his distinctive voice and hit songs such as "Locked Up," "Lonely," and "Smack That." Born in Senegal and raised in the United States, Akon blends his African heritage with R&B fusion. He is also known for his philanthropic efforts, particularly in Africa, where he has launched various initiatives aimed at improving living conditions and promoting sustainable development.
Akon set to perform in Jamaica
Music at the Diamond Dreamz event will be played by Heavy D from Chromatic, and it will be hosted by British social media personality Lorraine.
The Sybaritic Wknd promises three nights of exhilarating entertainment across four distinct events. The weekend kicks off on July 26 with an Afro Soca event featuring a live performance by the Queen of Bacchanal, Destra Garcia. The evening will be hosted by the vibrant ZJ Sparks and will feature the talents of local selectors Kurt Riley, ZJ Ice, and the dynamic duo Bloodline Franco and Brush1.
On July 27, there will also be a daily beach event hosted by Jade Troi titled "Tides & Tanlines." Additionally, social media personality Lee Notnice will host the "Sparks After Night" event on the same night. More hosts include Naro and Ari Hammond from the renowned media platform "The Fix."
