Alex Hall, a young entrepreneur, is making his mark on the local scene with his urban clothing brand, Alex Smoke, which continues to gain traction across the island. "The inspiration came from my love for fashion and wanting my family to wear things that represent who we are," Hall explained in a discussion with Kaboom Magazine.
Striving to create his own identity and set his brand apart from others, Hall shared his vision: "The identity comes from wanting a brand that caters to multiple audiences—creating something that my family can also be a part of and enjoy wearing."
Reflecting on what sets his brand apart, the Jamaican entrepreneur shared his perspective: "Trends don’t really matter to me. I’m doing what I love, and I hope that’s what people feel when they wear my brand."

He also spoke about the sources of his creativity, stating, "My inspiration comes from everyday things around me. The smallest, most simple things—like numbers and shapes—bring out the creativity in me."
With music playing a pivotal role in Jamaican culture and lifestyle, he connected with several artists, including Pablo YG, further expanding his brand’s reach. "Apart from my own upbringing and background being an inspiration to me, music has been a creative outlet for me. I turn on music, and it creates that space and freedom that allows me to tap into that creative aspect of myself," he resonated.
Speaking on the importance of urban fashion, he added, "As far as street culture goes, it’s a part of each and every Jamaican. It’s in everything we do. We all express it differently, but for me, it’s my designs."
Smoke aspires to create something for everyone. "The ultimate goal for the brand is beyond just Alex Smoke, it’s more than an individual," he said. "It’s about creating something that everyone can enjoy and love—children, men, and women. Ultimately, Alex Smoke is a brand for all."
