'Legacy' album has propelled Govana to new heights, uniting dancehall's elite to create a true masterpiece and marking a triumphant return to the forefront of the dancehall scene
Govana, Not every artist could unite the entire dancehall's producers
Dancehall artist Govana is back with an impressive sophomore 12-track album, "Legacy," bringing him back to the forefront of the dancehall scene.
Not every artist could unite the entire dancehall's prodecers, but Govana has done just that. Collaborating with an impressive array of producers and partners, including Jordan Chimney, his co-worker David 'Hizzle' Hayle, Attomatic Records, Din Din Hemton, Crash Dummy, Dunwell, Emudio, and many others, he has created a standout project.
He delivers impressive singles across the album, including 'Four Storey,' 'Saved By Psalm' with Popcaan, 'Earth A Hell' featuring Mavado, 'Legacy,' 'Letter,' and more. The fact that he has faced the many competitive egos of the dancehall scene and stands strong on his own testifies to his talent and determination.
With some of the songs already becoming regular soundtracks at weekly street parties, Govana has earned new bookings, secured a surprise guest set at Sumfest by his mentor Aidonia, and delivered a spectacular month that also included performances at other events.
It's not always about numbers, views, and stats. For someone identified as a promising talent over a decade ago, a particularly successful June at the age of 34 signifies the fulfillment of that promise. "Artist of the Month" is a well-deserved title for Govana.
