L-R: Aidonia, Ding Dong, Chronic Law

Billboard is once again shining a light on dancehall and reggae with its monthly “Fresh Picks of the Month,” highlighting standout tracks across the genre. This month’s roundup reflects an even broader range of talent—from seasoned veterans to fresh new voices.

Among the 10 must-hear selections is Ding Dong, who appears with “Street Jump” featuring Skeng and Kaka Highflames, a track that marks a high-energy nod to Kris Kross’ 1992 classic “Jump.” Billboard notes that Ding Dong, true to his roots in dance, “reimagines that song’s timeless hook into a more dancehall-flavored affair,” while Skeng and Kaka Highflames bring “delightfully manic energy” to the collaboration. The track also sets the tone for Ding Dong’s long-awaited debut album after 20 years in the business.

Aidonia makes the list with “Agony,” a sultry collaboration with dancehall hitmaker Di Genius. Whenever these two link up, it’s a proven formula for success. Billboard praises the track, noting, “If any deejay can make it work, it’s Aidonia with his sticky flow and devil-may-care delivery.”

Protoje returns to the list with his latest single “Big 45,” which earns praise for its craftsmanship and lyrical depth. “It’s always worth the wait,” Billboard writes of the reggae mainstay’s newest offering.

Known for his poignant lyricism, Chronic Law is recognized for “Altar,” a spiritually charged single that showcases his introspective side. Rising star Najeeriii also earns a spot for “Uptown,” taken from his debut album Book of Bob. Produced by Franc White of Zimi Records, the track shows a different side of the young deejay’s artistry.

Veteran dancehall artist Pamputtae lands a place with her single “Rum Sexy,” while Etana and Mr. Vegas join forces for the socially reflective track “Trapped,” rounding out a list that highlights both legacy and evolution within the genre.

With this diverse selection, Billboard continues to amplify the vibrancy of the Jamaican music genres.
