Jamaican dancehall living legend, Bounty Killer nurtured generations of artistes and has been credited with having inspired and aided in the development of many top dancehall acts including: Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Aidonia and others in the Alliance, who themselves have already developed generations of younger dancehall artistes.
With his contribution to the dancehall culture being undeniable, he begins his fifth decade in the music industry. The General, as he is more popularly referred, continues to be active on the music space, giving his opinions and embracing the changes on the global music scene.
He just recently pulled off the shelf his new project, 'Time Bomb' EP, with his fellow artiste-longtime friend, Cham. The 7-track project is already at number 2 on the Apple Music reggae chart after peaking at #1 with the theme song receiving favorable reactions from all over.
Recently he shared a couple of posts regarding the rising dancehall sensation, Najeeriii, and commented on the new style of the rising artiste. "I posted him really because I like the song without even knowing what it was saying so that’s mystical and magical to me. I mentioned it as an example then people tried to twist things like I was saying the song wasn't good, when I in fact did said it a lock di place also", The ‘War Lord’ clarified his recent comments on Najeeriii's single 'Panton'.
As mentioned above, Bounty Killer is actually the father of current dancehall, so what is the possibility of a collaboration between the old school and the new school? "Not that I wouldn’t work with him or any other talented young acts but the fact that I never met him. I just like his song. He’s a talented unique kid and with good guidance he should go places", The experienced deejay shared.
The legendary deejay recently received his UK visa so there is anticipation for shows in England in the near future. "I Feel, elated, anointed and blessed. God is in control all the time", he said with gratitude.
