Grammy-winning Jamaican legend Buju Banton is set to perform at the 2025 ESSENCE Festival of Culture, scheduled for July 4–6 in New Orleans.
The Gargamel will share the stage with Afrobeats superstar Davido, R&B legends Boyz II Men, rap sensation GloRilla, and other major acts including Nas, Muni Long, and more.
One of the most highly anticipated moments of the weekend will be ESSENCE Flowers—a powerful musical tribute to the late Quincy Jones, curated by super-producer Jermaine Dupri.
Presented by Coca-Cola, the ESSENCE Festival—produced by the prestigious ESSENCE Magazine—consistently celebrates the biggest names in Black culture, blending genres like hip hop, R&B, soul, and funk into a one-of-a-kind cultural showcase.
For the "Destiny" deejay, this New Orleans appearance is part of a packed 2025 tour schedule. He’s set to headline shows in Trinidad next weekend, perform at the California Roots Festival in Monterey on May 23, followed by Miami’s Best of the Best concert on May 25. He’ll then take the stage at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on June 5, before making history as the first reggae artist to headline Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on June 7.
