Dancehall entertainer Squash is finally set to drop his debut EP, a 9-track project titled "Hate Being Famous,” on May 16.

The EP is led by his latest single, “Know Bout Dat,” which has already climbed to #2 on Jamaica’s YouTube trending chart, amassing nearly 1 million views in 10 days since its release.

“Hate Being Famous” features one collaboration, “Leaf Of Life” with fellow dancehall acts Malie Donn and Byron Messia, produced by Disaster Music and Trap Skull.

The project is executive produced by renowned producer Mario “DinDin” Hemmings of Hemton Music, alongside Salkey Records and Squash’s own label, 6iix Real Records.

The 6iix Boss, Squash, born Andre Whittaker, had previously teased several projects, including the unreleased Mr. Whittaker, but this marks a major milestone in his career as his first official EP.

This announcement comes amid legal troubles for the deejay, who is reportedly in immigration custody following a weapons-related arrest.

Since breaking out with tracks like “Lavish” and “Ohh Lala La,” Squash has remained a fixture in dancehall, racking up millions of views with hits like “Big Breeze,” one of last year’s biggest songs, as well as “Shub Out” and “Get Up.”
