Iyara's hit single rocks the airwaves, social media, and street parties with dance challenges by popular Rebel & Swiiss Lee
Iyara, going viral with "Big Vibe"
Dancehall artiste Iyara has finally found the summer hit he's been waiting for throughout his career with his single "Big Vibe" (Arubadubadu), produced by Bellevue Entertainment.
Released on May 24, the single has been making significant strides on FM radio, social media, and in the streets. It has garnered support from social media influencers, including content creator Evy Royal, Swiiss Lee, and popular dancer Rebel.
On Friday, June 14, Rebel posted a video of herself teaching people in Colombia to dance, using the song as part of the choreography.
Dancer Drip King, who created a dance routine for the song, has also launched a dance challenge on TikTok, where participants are posting videos of themselves dancing to the track.
Jamaican content creator and social media personality, Swiiss Lee uploaded a routine featuring the song to his Instagram and TikTok pages on Friday, and the views have skyrocketed, with 127K plays and 286K views, respectively
"Well I'm not really surprised at the impact of the song. I’m only surprised at the pace at which it is happening and it’s a great look. Big up the Skankaz, the fans, the DJs and everybody who has been supporting the song,” said a pleased Iyara..
Street selectors including Boom Boom and D/j Tom, have been giving the song support at weekly sessions including Leggo Di Streets Wednesdays, Dolly Sundays and Boom Sundays.
"By standing at a distance, I was looking at dancehall and it short a supper. Just like how you a cook and it short a flavour. So what I did was add the flavour to it,” Iyara explained.
A video for the song is set to be completed and released in July. "Look out for the video. I don’t like to do something and do it effortless. We are going all out with this one for the fans, because this is a summer vibe. The vibe weh da song ya have, it couldn’t get no other name than Big Vibe. It’s a big vibe summer," he added.
