Outtadoor Records brings together a new wave of producers and photographers under one label to redefine the future of dancehall. Take a closer look into their world

"When we’re all together it’s a beautiful experience"
Bringing together some of the most talented and innovative producers of the new era, Outtadoor Records is a dynamic record label composed primarily of young creatives who are redefining the Dancehall landscape and pioneering the emerging sub-genre known as Traphall
With talents like Justin 'Mxssivh' Junagadala, Carter-Daniel Wilson, better known as Prod. Carterr, Deemo, Waysett, and Fong, alongside skilled photographers Demario Hinds and Jemz—all in their early 20s or late teens—Outtadoor Records is shaping the future of Dancehall. These young creatives are setting the stage for the next wave of innovation in the genre.
“I founded the label a few years back but it was dormant kinda until I linked up with Fong and we got stuff cranking out. Blvckwood manages me as well as Fong, and we manage the others in the label that we’ve recruited“, shared Mxssivh, who is one of the founders of Outtadoor Records.

Fong shared his part of the story, saying, “I had a meeting with Mxssivh, and funny enough, both of us had the same idea to start up the label together. I come from a big music family, and not a lot of people even know that because Fong isn’t even my real name. It’s not like I had no music experience—I was legit born into music. My family owned and ran Sonic Sounds back in the day.”
The Mobay native has already established himself as a top producer in the industry. He has collaborated with major names such as Squash, Chronic Law, Pablo YG, Skeng, Valiant, Polo G, and many more, solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the music scene.
On how it all officially came together, he shared, “Originally back in 2021, I initially decided to form the group to build a strong connection among the people I believed in and to create a solid foundation for them. However, I had to put it on pause due to being busy. It wasn’t until I moved to Kingston and met Fong that I revisited the idea—and from there, the rest is history.”
"When we all link up is a different kind of energy because all of us under the label look at each other as family so this is deeper than just work"
Expanding on how the group operates, Mxssivh shared more details, highlighting the team’s diverse roles, which include producers, photographers/filmmakers, a manager, and an editor. “We have the producers which consist of me (Mxssivh), Deemo, Waysett & Prod Carterr. Deemo is the melody guy 100% but still does his thing with drums. Me and Waysett do alot of trap as well as dancehall. Focused all rounded between melody and drums. Same with Carter, all rounded,“ Mxssivh explained.
"Then there’s Hinds, the photographer/videographer for Outtadoor. Jemz is also a photographer for us. Fong handles management alongside me, partially managing my career as well. He also dabbles in video editing and shooting for all our vlogs," he explained. "Lastly, Stepho is the Outtadoor DJ and also serves as my personal DJ for all my shows and performances."
Mxssivh explained this by saying, “When we’re all together it’s a beautiful experience. Everybody connects with each other amazingly. It’s a family thing. Everyone equally does their work, collaborates and gets along smoothly“.

each other as family so this is deeper than just work", Fond added.
The Young Guns In TheProduction Game
These young producers have impressive hits to their credit but often lack the recognition given to artists or big-name producers. However, their résumés speak for themselves, and they’re steadily building their reputations.
Carter, the youngest member of the label, shared his perspective on being a producer and working with Outtadoor. “I started producing from a strong interest shown in it by my cousin Bigtwe12. Given also my family being heavily involved in the music scene, music has been something I was always around, so it only felt right to take that path.”
Carter has produced and composed several hits, with his most recent work being the beat for the trendy "Rifle Behavior" riddim, featuring tracks from Kraff, Najeeriii, Valiant, Jahvillani, and others. Reflecting on his creative process, he explained. “The process of working with an artist is always a diverse process because you can never expect what the artist is going to do, communication between whether giving lyrics or flows are simple ways of communicating that create a cohesive work environment.”
He also mentioned his favorite recording session, saying, “My favorite session was with Whereis22 and Wolfacejoeyy. The energy in the room at the time was unmatched—it felt like we could work for hours.”
“I started producing from I was really young. I played the piano a bit as a kid too and always loved music,” Mxssivh shared. “I fell in love with the beats first, then the songs, to be honest. The rest was history from there—I got straight to it,” mentioned the young producer, who has also transitioned into being an artist.
“I remember walking into my cousin's room and seeing FL studio on his computer. When I grew up, I was reminiscing and decided to try what I saw in my early childhood,” shared Waysett, who recently produced a track titled 'Juta' for his fellow producer-turned-artist, Mxssivh.
Sometimes, it’s just part of the young collective of producers creating standout tracks, as Deemo explained: “I have many favorite beats, but one that stands out is the Desperate Riddim, made by Mxssivh and me. It features 'Moca' by Byron Messia and 'Cuts All Losses' by Valiant. I love it for its simplicity and how it showcases my skills, especially using my favorite instrument—the piano—as I’m both a musician and a producer.”
Starting at a young age, they have now reached a more mature stage in their careers. Despite their youth, their collective repertoire has already garnered millions of views on YouTube. “Out of Outtadoor, we have tracks like 'Gwaan Suh,' 'Narcissistic,' 'Crypto,' and 'Muk Truck.' Recently, we’ve been more focused on other aspects rather than releasing a lot of projects,” they shared.
We explored the intricate process of working with artists, which often comes with its challenges. Waysett shared, “Working with artists varies. Sometimes, there’s no interaction—you just handle the business and send beats. But with artists I have a connection with, I’m more involved. I usually present beats or concepts, and they pick one. Communication is simple, like a casual conversation about ideas or what fits the beat. The closer you are, the more input you can give. If not, you might not even be there during the process.”
Deemo added, “Most of the time, it all depends on the artist. Some you don’t interact with at all; you just send beats and handle the business. But my voice is heard more with artists I’ve built ties with. I usually start by sharing beats or concepts I’m working on, and they pick one. Recording becomes straightforward, like a casual discussion about ideas or song concepts. I can suggest what fits the beat. The better you know them, the more you can contribute. If you don’t, you might not even be in the room when the music comes together.”
Outtadoor’s Visual Masters Speak Out
Photographers and filmmakers play a vital role in Outtadoor's success, with Jemz and Hinds bringing their unique talents to the table. Jemz explained, “My role focuses on the visual side of the brand, capturing moments on set or through my creative perspective. Collaborations happen naturally or through outreach—it all comes down to energy.”
Hinds elaborated on his role, saying, “I’m the photographer, videographer, and Creative Director for the label. I help develop creative concepts for music videos, rollouts, and photoshoots. Our process feels like a family vibe, where everyone’s input is valued. Sometimes it’s random, but we always create something cohesive.”
He highlighted their first music video for Mxssivh, 'Murda', describing its black-and-white theme with red subtitles inspired by a 'Godfada vibe'. Other projects, like 'Spaceship', were more spontaneous, relying on creative improvisation.
The approach mirrors international labels like Quality Control and Dreamville, where collaborative projects bring together artists and producers to shape cohesive bodies of work.

Fong: The Guiding Hand Behind Outtadoor's Creative Machine
Fong, who serves as the executive producer of the collective, explained his role in nurturing this young creative team. “I don’t make riddims yet, but I try to help. As an executive producer, I assist in different areas, from voicing to shooting and editing. Overall, with Mxssivh, we handle everything together,” he shared.

“Mxssivh is working on his producer album, which is going to be incredible—it’s taken countless hours,” Fong shared. “I assist where needed, but my main focus is his artist career, making sure he can concentrate on voicing, performing, and videos. Everyone else in the label is putting in work daily, and we have more projects coming soon.”
As they set their sights on the international scene, both as a collective and as individuals, some are branching into new arenas. “I’d love to do a collab album with DJ Mac—that’s a friend I’ve had since my younger days,” Mxssivh shared.
In closing, Mxssivh reassured that the group has a strong catalog of songs, though there’s no set timeline for a release just yet—hinting that it might be sooner than expected. Speaking about his upcoming producer album, he affirmed, “Outtadoor has to be a part of that. Outtadoor forever.”
