Jamaican top producer Di Genius has earned platinum certification in France for the single "Taken" by French dancehall star Kalash, equivalent to 30 million streams. The single, released in 2016, has amassed 81 million views to date.
"Taken" is a song by French artist Kalash, featured on his 2016 album Kaos. The track explores themes of love, regret, and longing, with the protagonist expressing remorse over a past relationship and a desire to rekindle it.
Kalash and the 34-year-old super producer have also collaborated on singles like "Why", released in 2017.
Di Genius is one of the producers on Drake's hit song "Controlla" off the multi-platinum selling album 'View'. He also produced the smash hit "Dangerous Love" by Ghanaian recording artist Fuse ODG, featuring Dancehall legend Sean Paul. The track was certified Platinum in the United Kingdom, with over 600,000 units sold.
