Acclaimed Jamaican super-producer Stephen "Di Genius" McGregor is set to release a 20-track compilation of some dancehall’s most iconic tracks, on November 1 via OneRPM. This collection features tracks from top-tier dancehall stars, including Aidonia, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Busy Signal, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Blak Ryno, and Chino McGregor.
The compilation boasts fan favorites like Vybz Kartel's "My Scheme" and "Gaza Commandments," Mavado's "Brown Bottle," Beenie Man’s "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie," Aidonia’s "Whine & Bubble," and Laden's "I'm Sorry."
Known for shaping the genre with iconic riddims such as "Darker Shadow," "Tremor," "Day Break," "Advocate," and "Tripple Bounce," Di Genius has contributed to dancehall’s legacy with classics like Vybz Kartel's "Nuh Permission," Mavado's "Brown Bottle," and Aidonia's "Empty."
Di Genius recently shared the story behind Kartel’s hit "Come Breed Me," which gained momentum following Kartel’s release from prison after 13 years.
As The "Recovered Files" approaches its release, it highlights Di Genius's undeniable impact on dancehall, spanning from the mid-2000s to today. In 2024 he produced Shenseea’s smash hit "Hit & Run" featuring Masicka, which recently surpassed 90 million views on Youtube, further cementing his legacy in the genre.
