Elaine Thompson-Herah, Elated as the new Dior Ambassador
Following a disappointing race at the Diamond League Prefontaine Classic in Eugene last weekend, Olympic medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah is now enjoying a moment of fame as one of 15 athletes chosen as brand ambassadors for the prestigious fashion house, Christian Dior.
Jamaica’s two-time reigning Olympic gold medalist finished last in the women’s 100m with a time of 11.30 seconds in her first race of the season and her first competitive appearance since last September.
Despite the setback on the track, Thompson-Herah expressed her gratitude for the Dior deal, sharing her excitement on social media. "I am excited for my new partnership with Dior going into this year Olympic. As a young Jamaican I always see Dior as a big luxury company and this is definitely a dream for me ISSA BIG TING," she posted.
A series of portraits featuring the newly-minted ambassadors will be showcased at Le Café Dior in La Galerie Dior, located at the brand’s historic flagship store in Paris, from July 24 to September 9.
As the Olympic year approaches its peak with Paris 2024, Thompson-Herah, the two-time double Olympic champion, also faced the disappointment of the Grenada Invitational being canceled due to economic challenges, where she had planned to compete.
