Elaine Thompson-Herah, the fastest woman alive, is poised to make a pivotal decision ahead of the 2025 season. According to Dr. Greg Haughton on the Let’s Talk podcast, Thompson-Herah will train under coach Rana Reider at the Tumbleweed Track Club in Jacksonville, Florida, to prepare for the upcoming season.

This news comes just weeks after reports emerged that she was planning to change coaches. According to the Jamaica Observer, she was also in negotiations to rejoin her former club, MVP.

Rana Reider has coached some of the world's top athletes, including two-time Olympic gold medalist Christian Taylor, hurdling world champion Nia Ali, Canadian sprinter and Olympic gold medalist Andre De Grasse, Dutch sprint sensation Dafne Schippers, American sprinter Trayvon Bromell, and Tokyo 2020 Olympic 100m champion, Italy's Marcell Jacobs.

If this move materializes, it will mark the first time in Elaine Thompson-Herah’s career that she has chosen to train full-time overseas.

Thompson-Herah missed the 2024 season due to an Achilles tendon injury sustained at the New York City Grand Prix on June 9, 2024. This injury forced her to withdraw from the Jamaican national championships and, subsequently, the Paris 2024 Olympics.
