Jamaican duo Friday Night Cru
Jamaican duo Friday Night Cru continues to push the boundaries of the island’s soundscape with their latest EP, Blessings In Di Skies, a fusion-heavy project that dropped on November 1.
The EP features three tracks, including the collaboration "Storm Showers," featuring Akina Eman and Royal Blu. "Lease on Life," a track the duo had previously released, captures themes of resilience and fresh starts. The third piece, "Too Good," closes out the EP, maintaining the group’s genre-blending style with smooth hooks and introspective lyrics.
With contributions from recording engineer Mixed By Kamal of the Big Yard Studio, and mixing and mastering by reggae artist Runkus, the EP offers a refreshing take on modern Jamaican music, drawing from global influences while adding their own unique touch.
Known for their unique blend of genres like Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Afrobeats, Friday Night Cru is carving out a distinct space for themselves in Jamaican music by diverging from traditional reggae and dancehall.
