Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale is set to light up the stage at the highly anticipated "Freedom Street" concert, headlined by Vybz Kartel. Scheduled for New Year’s Eve at the National Stadium, the event celebrates the release of the global dancehall icon.
Shatta Wale shared his excitement on social media, posting a video with the caption, “When the ‘TEECHA’ calls you, you say Yes Sir,” and writing on Instagram, “Spending my New Year’s Eve in Jamaica with the TEECHA.”
The African dancehall sensation joins a star-studded lineup featuring heavyweights like Busta Rhymes, Popcaan, Tommy Lee Sparta, Spice, Skillibeng, Chronic Law, and Kartel’s sons, Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi. Former Portmore Empire artists Shawn Storm, Gaza Indu, and Sheba will also take the stage.
Kartel has promised additional international stars, with social media buzzing about potential appearances by Drake, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj. Several rising Jamaican artists are also expected to make cameo performances.
Shatta Wale will be the sole African artist at the Downsound Entertainment event, marking a significant milestone in his career.
