With contributions from top Jamaican producers, Govana reveals cover art and reflects on his legacy, with special release dates along the way
The Legacy continues
Dancehall star Govana has announced the release date for his sophomore album "Legacy" as June 28th, along with its cover art. He confirmed this on his Instagram account.
The album reflects his legacy, with Govana revealing that he set special release dates corresponding to his and his sons' birthdays. The first single from the album, the hit song "Pull Over" featuring dancehall songstress Jada Kingdom, was released on April 5, his father's birthday. On May 10, coincided with his own birthday, he unveiled the single "Dat Mi Seh" with fellow Spanish Town artist Skeng.
On June 5th, coinciding with his firstborn Raheef's birthday, Govana revealed the album's release date. He will continue the second phase of the process on October 6th, marking his secondborn Rohiri's birthday.
The album includes two notable collaborations: the viral hit "Pull Over" featuring Jada Kingdom, which gained 1.5 million views, and a collaboration with Skeng, along with several other tracks featuring contributions from producers like Attomatic Records, DJ Mac & Crashdummy, Emudio Records, Chemist Records, Quantanium, and his own label Raheef MuzikGroup. The executive producer is Jordan McClure of Chimney Records. "Mi fans dem will be proud, mi tell you," promised the 34-year-old deejay.
Following his debut album, "Humans and Monsters Are Not the Same," from 2020, the deejay, born Romeo Nelson, has become one of the leading figures in dancehall, solidifying his name in the industry over the years.
