Govana unveils sophomore album ' with Star-Studded Collaborations
Multi-talented dancehall artist Govana is set to release his highly anticipated sophomore album, 'Legacy,' on June 28. The 12-track album features intriguing collaborations with several fellow dancehall stars.
For the first time in their careers, Govana teams up with dancehall star Popcaan on the single "Saved By Psalm." Govana made a surprise guest appearance at Popcaan's Unruly Fest last year, and Popcaan's older brother, Squidell, serves as Govana's manager. The Unruly Boss recently shared a promo video for the album release, building excitement among fans.
Govana also collaborates with his longtime friend and mentor, Aidonia, as well as with Mavado on another track. The Spanish Town-born deejay has had a close bond with Aidonia for years, with four previous collaborations including "Breeze," "Mayday," "Yeah Man," and "Earthquake."
The album showcases Govana’s growth and evolution as an artist, solidifying his position as a leading figure in the dancehall industry. 'Legacy' reflects his journey from his humble beginnings as the artist Deablo to his current status as a force to be reckoned with in the music world. The album cover, featuring Govana's two sons, sets the tone for 'Legacy,' offering a glimpse into the more mature and introspective side of the artist.
Already generating buzz with singles like “Dat Me Seh” featuring Skeng, “Pull Over” featuring Jada Kingdom, and “4 Storey,” 'Legacy' focuses on Govana's growth as both an artist and an individual.
