Govana's 'Legacy' Reaches Number 2 on iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums

Govana dropped his sophomore 12-track Album, collaborating with dancehall titans Popcaan, Mavado, and Aidonia, as well as top producers in the industry

Dancehall star, Govana finally dropped his 12-track sophomore album, "Legacy," on June 28. The album features an impressive array of notable names in Dancehall, from guest artists to producers, promising a spectacular listening experience for both old and new Dancehall fans.


Within hours of its release, the album quickly climbed to number 2 on the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Albums chart, driven by a rapid surge in sales.

Govana collaborates with fellow dancehall stars, including Popcaan on the single "Saved By Psalm," Mavado for "Earth a Hell," and his longtime friend Aidonia for the sexy, girls-targeting track "Walmartt." Other standout tracks include "Like You," "My Will," and the title track "Legacy." These complement previously released singles like "Pull Over" with Jada Kingdom, "Dat Me Seh" with Skeng, and the powerful anthem "Four Storey."


The Spanish Town-born deejay received contributions from various top producers, including Attomatic Records, Mario "DinDin" Hemmings, Anjublaxx, Curt "Crash Dummy" White, DJ Frass, Redbook Supamix, Emmanuel "Emudio" Schirmer, Mario Dunwell, Chemist Records, Sean "Ziah" Roberts, Brandon Shakespeare, Simpac Records, the Daseca team with David and Craig, and Chimney Records with David "Hizzle" Hayle and Jordan McClure, who also serves as the executive producer.

Artists such as Moyann and Qyor added background vocals, while reggae artist Immanuel "Ras-I" Kerr also contributed to the production.
