Jamaica is abuzz with excitement today as 'World Boss' Vybz Kartel, one of the most influential dancehall deejays in Jamaican history, has been released after 13 years in prison. The Court of Appeal's unanimous decision to deny requests for a retrial and release Kartel and his co-accused has sparked widespread reactions across the nation.

Kartel, who had been dealing with worsening health issues while incarcerated, now has the opportunity to focus on his recovery outside prison. His release, coinciding with the eve of Jamaica's Emancipation Day, is seen as a momentous event, and he is expected to be welcomed with sympathy and support both in Jamaica and internationally.

Many entertainers, including his protégé Popcaan, Spice (Who just came back from the UK), Bounty Killer, Shenseea, Shaneil Muir, Demarco among others, have shared their reactions following the Court of Appeal's decision to release him.

Even his longtime rival over the past decades, Mavado, shared a peaceful message on his Instagram account: "Freedom streets OG. Home to your family." Dancehall legend Bounty Killer echoed, "His second chance at life that God gave you, please treat it as a lesson and a blessing. Walk good, you."

Top producers like TJ Records, Drop Top Records, and Din Din Hemton along with selcetors, and influencers also have their own reactions following the significant decision.
