Jamaica's inner cities have long been a breeding ground for individuals whose life's journey is intertwined with music. From a young age, many find themselves drawn to the rhythms and beats that define their communities, embarking on a path where music becomes not just a passion but a purpose. Jammytear, the 23-year-old burgeoning producer from the community of Tower Hill, Kingston, is one such talent.

Growing up surrounded by the vibrant sounds of dancehall, Jammytear's fascination with music started early. "I always wondered how it was possible to create music," he reflected on his childhood curiosity. That wonder soon evolved into a burning desire to be part of the music industry himself.

Through perseverance and the support of family and friends, Jammytear (Given name Jahmarley Grant), turned his dream into reality. Co-founding the Tearsyde Entertainment label alongside Kino Clarke, he has quickly established himself as a force in the dancehall scene. His journey, however, wasn’t without its challenges. "There’s a lot I’ve been through in the industry that I choose not to talk about right now, but I learned valuable lessons along the way," he shared. Despite the hurdles, Jammytear, who is also known by the moniker of “Dancehall Einstein,” sees every experience as part of his growth.

His work on projects like 'Budget' and 'Malfunction' by dancehall newcomer Ai Milly, as well as collaborations with artists like Zizi 6ix, Tennpoint, Kash Promise Move, Chadoe, and Najeeriii, has solidified his place in the industry.

With upcoming projects featuring rising sensation Eddy G Bomba, Nhance, and more, Jammytear’s journey continues to unfold, guided by the same passion that first sparked his love for music in the heart of Kingston's inner city.
