Iyara, Salutes the Jamaican Athletes

Dancehall artist Iyara has dedicated one of his recent hits, "G.O.A.T. Get Weh," to the Jamaican athletes currently competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in France.

"The message I want people to take away from this song is to be the greatest at whatever talent or skill you have. Embrace your greatness. 'G.O.A.T.' stands for the Greatest of All Time, and I created this song to honor some truly remarkable individuals. I wanted to pay homage to the real goats who have left an indelible mark on society,” said Iyara.

This upbeat song is a celebration of ambition and perseverance. Produced by US-based Bellevue Entertainment, it was released last September and has gained significant traction, thanks to the support of various dancehall street selectors.

In a notable moment, dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his co-accused were set free after the Court of Appeal ruled against retrying them for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. Shortly after the ruling, several blogs uploaded a photo of Vybz Kartel with "G.O.A.T. Get Weh" playing in the background. The song has since gone viral on social media.
