Jamaica secured their second consecutive win under head coach Steve McClaren, defeating Nicaragua 2-0 in a hard-fought CONCACAF Nations League Group B match to take the group lead.

The game, played at the Nicaragua National Football Stadium, featured a physical first half with both teams battling for control. Jamaica broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Nicaragua’s Josue Quijano scored an own goal, giving the Reggae Boyz the lead.

Jamaica doubled their advantage in the second half, with striker Romario Williams heading home in the 69th minute to put the match beyond reach. Goalkeeper and captain Andre Blake delivered a stellar performance, keeping a clean sheet and ensuring the win.

Midfielder Tyreek Magee made his first start for the Reggae Boyz since July 2021, while new recruit Mason Holgate made his debut, entering the match in the 75th minute.

With this victory, Jamaica remains top of Group B, ahead of their upcoming fixture against Honduras on October 14 at the National Stadium in Kingston.
