Jamaica's New Diamond Voice: Nordia Mothersille Fuses R&B, Reggae, and Dancehall in 'Broken Child'

Rising talented singer and songwriter Nordia Mothersille drops debut EP, featuring Chronic Law collab, fuses fresh sound with R&B, reggae, and dancehall

Rising Jamaican songbird Nordia Mothersille drops her debut EP, "Broken Child", with an intimate launch event held at Dulce Lounge in Kingston. At the event, she shared insights into the EP’s creation and inspiration.

Produced by her manager and renowned producer Ainsley "Notnice" Morris, and distributed by ONErpm, the EP features seven tracks, some of which were recorded years ago. Blending elements of R&B and pop with the unmistakable Jamaican influences of dancehall and reggae, Nordia Mothersille introduces a fresh voice to the local music landscape.

The singer highlighted her track "When I'm Gone," featuring dancehall star Chronic Law, describing him as a "welcome feature" on the project. Another standout, "Ms Honda," released on October 25, brings a nostalgic yet modern sound to today’s music scene.

The bonus track, "I'm Sorry," stands out as a heartfelt ballad, written in response to her first major heartbreak during her college years. Nordia described the song as a therapeutic release that helped her move on from that experience.

Notnice shared that this project had been years in the making, with both artist and producer waiting for the perfect moment to bring Broken Child to life.
