Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz saw their hopes of advancing to the Concacaf Nations League semifinals end on Monday evening with a 4-2 defeat to defending champions USA at Energizer Park in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Americans secured their place with a 5-2 aggregate victory, having won the first leg 1-0 in Kingston.
The USA dominated the first half, racing to a 3-0 lead with goals from Christian Pulisic (13'), an own goal by Dishon Bernard, and Ricardo Pepi (42'), effectively sealing the victory for Mauricio Pochettino's side.
Despite the setback, the Reggae Boyz fought back in the second half with two goals from Demarai Gray. However, a strike from Timothy Weah (56') ensured the result stayed out of Jamaica's reach.
Jamaica will now await their playoff opponent for a chance to qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
