Jamaican reggae star Romain Virgo dropped his latest single, "Switch You On," on October 18th via VP Records. This fresh and playful track seamlessly combines classic romance with a sleek, modern production, showcasing a departure from his usual style in terms of energy and vocal delivery.
Romain Virgo expressed his excitement about the song, saying, "This one is a bit different from what I normally do in terms of the energy and singing style. I got the opportunity to showcase the falsetto side of my voice, and I'm really pleased with the result. Our goal was to create a song that people can sing along to and dance to, and I believe we've achieved that."
Once again, Virgo collaborated with reggae and dancehall hitmaker Donovan 'Don Corleon' Bennett and songwriter Matthew 'Keely Keyz' Keaveny, who also contributed to his previous single, "Driver." Don Corleon took the reins as the producer and arranger, blending pop elements with reggae vibes, allowing Romain's melodies and Keely's harmonies to shine.
The Trelawny native reggae singer has announced a 5-date UK tour, commencing on October 23rd in Manchester and concluding in Leicester on October 27th. The tour will also stop in Birmingham, Bristol, and London, with Romain Virgo backed by a live band for his performances.
Romain Virgo, a prominent figure in the reggae genre, has released three albums to date: 'Romain Virgo' (2010), 'The System' (2012), and 'Love Sick' (2018), along with a catalog of nineteen singles, including hits like "Soul Provider," "Stronger," "Beautiful To Me," and "Star Across The Sky." His music has garnered significant streaming numbers, with over 57.2 million views on YouTube, 4.5 million streams on Spotify, and 24.2 million streams on Pandora. He is consistently ranked among the top 100 most popular Jamaican artists and enjoys global radio play, especially in key markets like the United States, the UK, the Caribbean, and Canada.
