Jamaican sprinter Ackeem Blake wrapped up an impressive 2024 season, bouncing back from the disappointment of missing the 100m final at the Paris Olympics. At just 22 years old, Blake continues to prove that his potential is steadily rising.
On Friday, Blake delivered a stunning performance to win the 100m title at the Brussels Allianz Memorial Van Damme Diamond League meeting. His victory pushed his total earnings for the season to over $45,000 USD, with $30,000 coming from his season’s title.
Reflecting on his win, Blake shared on his X account: "In that moment, I was deeply focused. I could hear my coach, Michael Frater, guiding me through every phase of the race. After the devastating exit in the semi-finals at the Paris Olympics, my team and I made a decision to put everything into reaching and excelling at the Diamond League Final."
Blake’s Diamond League title will undoubtedly boost his confidence as he gears up for the next season.
