Rising Jamaican dancehall sensation Papiito unleashes his latest track, "Don't Run," a sultry blend of infectious rhythms and seductive lyricism that highlights his unique sonic flair. the track was released on April 4 via ONErpm.
Built on a smooth, guitar-driven beat, "Don't Run" sets the tone for late-night vibes with its pulsating groove and provocative lyrics. Papiito’s signature silky delivery brings raw passion and playful confidence to the forefront, making the track a must-listen for dancehall fans seeking both heat and harmony.
Managed by acclaimed dancehall producer Anju Blaxx under the Black State label, Papiito credits the producer for playing a vital role in shaping his musical direction. "Working under the guidance of Anju Blaxx has been an invaluable learning experience. His influence has been instrumental in my sound development, and I continue to grow with each session," Papiito expressed. "The quality of his production is unmatched, and his expertise has significantly enhanced the overall direction of my music."
The Kingston-based singer, whose given name is Garnett Ferguson, is known for his unique, soulful, and silky voice and is aiming to make his big break this year. "This year we plan to release my debut EP under the Black State label," he shared, while also being featured on Anju Blaxx's debut album set to release later this year.
Papiito has already made waves with “Smile,” produced by dancehall heavyweight Busy Signal, as well as fan favourites “AP Bussdown” and “Essence.” The St. Mary High School graduate also partners with Talent Ink, spearheaded by Nathan Cowan, for booking and management, and is a solid performer who recently delivered outstanding shows at this year’s staging of Essence of Reggae and the most recent Kulcha Live. “Both were magnificent experiences for me, as they allowed me to showcase my talent not just as a recording artist,” he said.
With “Don't Run,” he continues to push creative boundaries, fusing classic dancehall vibes with fresh international influences to craft a sound that’s both authentic and globally appealing.
