Billboard Magazine continues its tradition of highlighting the familiar and freshest names in the Reggae/Dancehall scene, introducing their Reggae/Dancehall Fresh Picks of the Month.
Reggae artist Jaz Elise makes her debut on the list with the single "Gunman," a fusion of R&B and reggae. In the track, Jaz Elise implores her lover, entrenched in a life of recklessness, to forsake it for a more settled life with her.
Queen Reggae Marcia Griffiths, who is marking 60 years in the music industry, graces the playlist with "Looking Up." Joining her is vetetan Etana, with her gratitude-filled single "Thankful" featured on the Engraph Riddim.
Also spotlighted is dancehall star Masicka with "Forever," produced by Temple Boss Records and freshly released this year. Despite its recent release, the single carries potent lyrics, though its commercial success is yet to peak.
Additionally, Shenseea, who is set to drop her sophomore album "Never Gets Late Here" on May 24th, makes an appearance with her latest track "Neva Nava," showcasing a vibrant pop-dancehall vibe.
