Vybz Kartel, The Court of Appeal Scheduled to Hear Arguments on June 10th
The Court of Appeal is scheduled to deliberate on whether to commence a retrial for incarcerated dancehall artist Vybz Kartel and his co-convicts on June 10.
Judge Marva McDonald Bishop issued the directive today. Attorneys representing Kartel, Sean Campbell, Cairo Jones, and Andre St. John are slated to present their arguments by May 6. The Crown has until May 31 to submit their statements.
This hearing follows the decision of the Privy Council in the United Kingdom to send the trial back to Jamaica for additional hearings, following an appeal filed last February.
