According to Die Presse, Grammy-winning artist Kabaka Pyramid has faced the cancellation of several European shows, including performances in Innsbruck, Vienna, Munich, and Berlin, due to allegations of anti-Semitic hate speech.
The Innsbruck concert, scheduled for October 15, 2024, at PMK Club in Austria, was canceled after the venue received Instagram reposts purportedly suggesting a Jewish world conspiracy and downplaying violence in the Middle East. In their statement, PMK cited a review of the posts by the Research and Information Center for Anti-Semitism North Rhine-Westphalia (RIAS NRW), which determined the content to be anti-Semitic. Although the posts are no longer publicly available, the venue claimed to have screenshots.
Kabaka Pyramid responded, strongly denying the allegations. He stated, "I made no social media posts or public statements that would suggest a Jewish world conspiracy—this is a false accusation." He also clarified that he had not made any comments downplaying the actions of Hamas, nor had he taken any side in the conflict. Kabaka explained that private Instagram messages had been taken out of context to create a misleading narrative about him, emphasizing his commitment to spreading love and unity through his music over the years.
He further added, "I am not anti-Semitic or against any race of people. I do not condone attacks on innocent people anywhere in the world. My song 'World Wide Love' is just one testament to where I stand." Kabaka Pyramid later posted on Instagram, saying, "The more dem fight we, the more we get stronger."
Kabaka later hinted at the incident on his Instagram story
