International soca star Kes, frontman of Kes the Band, has once again made history—this time as the first soca artist to sell out two SummerStage concerts at Central Park within hours of their release. The shows, set for July 5 and 6, 2025, mark a groundbreaking achievement not only for Kes but for the entire Caribbean music scene.
This appearance at SummerStage follows a sensational 2024 debut, where his single show sold out within hours, leaving thousands of fans eager for more. This year’s double booking is a testament to his soaring popularity and growing global impact.
With his current chart-topping single "Cocoa Tea," Kes continues to dominate streaming platforms worldwide, surpassing 12 million views on YouTube to date. The track has secured a permanent spot at the top of the iTunes Reggae chart in the U.S. Meanwhile, his electrifying IzWe Festival: Trinidad Carnival Edition earlier this year drew massive crowds, uniting cultures through rhythm and revelry.
As Kes the Band celebrates 20 years in the music industry this year, they continue to lead the charge for soca on the world stage—waving the red, white, and black of Trinidad and Tobago with pride and purpose.
“We’ve always believed in the power of soca to bring people together,” said Kes, given name Kees Dieffenthaller. “To see that vision unfold not just in Trinidad, but in New York, Canada, and beyond—it’s deeply humbling. This moment belongs to all of us.”
With the Central Park SummerStage shows already sold out, the band has a packed schedule ahead, with performances across the U.S. in cities such as Orlando, Boston, and Baltimore. They will also be touring the entire Caribbean in the coming months, with a stop in Malta on May 18.
