Lotto player's patience yields $127 million jackpot

A Kingston resident has become Jamaica's newest Lotto millionaire after claiming a whopping $127 million jackpot! Although he's previously won the Lucky 5 jackpot, this is his first Lotto win and largest prize yet.

His dedication to his chosen numbers — 01, 02, 03, 10, 13, and 25 — brought him success in the October 26th draw. "I've been playing these numbers for years because I believed they would win someday," he shared. "Even when people said I should change them, I said no. I might use different numbers for other games like Lucky 5, but these have always been my lucky Lotto numbers and I know that one day they would hit."

The winner plans to invest his money wisely, focusing on completing his family home and funding his children's education. "Winning this Lotto jackpot has been a dream come true," he stated. "I am really grateful for this opportunity to change my family’s future."

Danielle Douglas, VP Lotteries and Transactions, expressed her delight at seeing another Jamaican using their winnings constructively. "We are always heartened when winners use their winnings as catalysts for positive change, benefiting both themselves and their families. We warmly welcome our newest member to the Lotto millionaire club and wish him continued success."

This $127 million win marks the third Lotto jackpot in 2024. Earlier in the year, P. Stewart of St. Andrew won $142 million in April, and in May, two winners from Kingston shared a $37 million jackpot.
