Kishane Thompson Wins 60m at Astana Indoor Meet with 6.56s

Paris Olympic 100m silver medalist Kishane Thompson wins the men's 60m final at the Astana Indoor Meet, while Tia Clayton secured victory in the women's event

The 2025 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold kicked off in Astana, Kazakhstan, with Paris Olympic 100m silver medalist, Jamaican Kishane Thompson, winning the men's 60m in 6.56 seconds, ahead of Oman's Ali Al Balushi, who clocked 6.60 seconds.


In the women's 60m final, Tia Clayton claimed victory with a meet record time of 7.18 seconds, edging out her twin sister, Tina Clayton, who secured second place in 7.36 seconds.


Both Thompson and Clayton impressed from the heats, clocking 6.58 seconds and 7.22 seconds, respectively.



31-year-old sprinter Janieve Russell advanced to the 400m final after clocking 54.37 seconds in her heat.
