The creativity of dancehall artistes continued, some went into a militant mode while others targeted the ladies. Also a glimpse of the new albums from Stephen Marley and Blvk H3ro.
Kraff – 'Julius Caesar'
Fast-rising dancehall artiste, Kraff demonstrates historical knowledge and embraces the persona of the Roman emperor, Julius Caesar for a new single from his upcoming EP - 'The Budu Dem'. Displaying a brilliant lyrical prowess blended with his familiar flow, the rising talent earned his place in the dancehall space this year.
Najeeriii – 'F1'
With his contagious flow, the fast-rising talent, Najeeriii challenges the racetrack as he pulls out his new single 'F1', aiming to take over the trending charts. The video features the young talent along with the famous Jamaican driver, Nicklue of Skvng Lifestyle, as they burn up the racetrack, befitting a meteoric rise in the music industry.
Govana – 'Regular Day'
It's always a winning formula when Govana and super producer, Chemist Records combine on a track. As proven on the smash hit, '1 Matik', ‘Govi’ as he is most popularly called, once again showcases his hard-hitting lyrics & skills merged with a solid flow for a militant single.
Chronic Law – 'Never Too Late'
"Left Mi Heart Ina The Sun And It Nuh Melt", utters Chronic Law on his new single on the 'Bridge Riddim’. He once again delivers deep lyrical prowess as currently one of the most consistent and prolific songwriters in the dancehall space.
Demarco Ft. 10Tik – 'We Start It'
With Demarco and 10Tik combining melodies and lyrics, it’s a recipe for a hit record. Demarco's wordplay and 10Tik’s distinct flow matched with both artistes knack for infectious melodies play a significant role throughout their careers and is evident on this solid single.
Byron Messia Ft. Rvssian – 'Tropicana'
Byron Messia and Rvssian are turning up the heat with a new single while they trade melodic vocals and create this smooth single filled with a dancehall vibe that blends with R&B fusion. The visuals shot at a spot in Florida by leading video directors, Shane Creative (Wikid Media) and Ruppi (Ruption Design), now under the emerging label, ‘Now Or Never’ show both artistes enjoying the company of several women in true dancehall fashion.
Stephen Marley – 'Cool As The Breeze'
As he announced his upcoming album 'Old Soul' in a recent press release, Stephen Marley stays true to himself with an excellent new single that showcases his versatility as an artiste. A perfect performance accompanied by guitar playing skills, increasing the demand for another album highly anticipated for reggae lovers worldwide.
Blvk H3ro Ft. Skillibeng – 'Crazy World'
The Grammy-nominated artiste showcases his artistic mastery with some brilliant singles on his debut 'On A Mission' album. The songs; 'Crazy World' with dancehall star, Skillibeng and 'Shenseea' are wonderful and precise mixing of several genres of Dancehall, Reggae and Afro influences. We can surely describe it as ‘Dance-Soul’.
Bugle - 'Fight Again'
Bugle is a positive being. This track is including with that old reggae sound, a heavy reggae beat, and a deep message. Bugle always sends the right message to the youths.
Another notable single came from Pablo YG titled 'D.I.E', from his latest mixtape with a music video depicting a simulated conversation with a deceased friend. Also the singles ‘Party Anyweh’ by Jahvillani and ‘Dream’ by Skippa are all definitely worth mentioning.
