Cinematographer Lagikz Supreme embarks on production with new dancehall projects in the Pipeline: 'It was My biggest passion,' he states
Lagikz Supreme is stepping into a new role as a producer
Renowned video director Lagikz Supreme is stepping into a new role as a producer, supporting emerging artists on their musical journeys. Currently, he’s mentoring artist Havan Hikon, who is working closely under his guidance.
As a skilled cinematographer and graphic designer, Lagikz is finalizing his "Fresh Breeze Riddim", produced last year. The project recently debuted with Havan Hikon's track "Life" and Daddy 1’s "Money a Mi Favorite." Lagikz shared that additional singles featuring dancehall stars and emerging talents, including Teejay, Laden, Yaksta, and Tamo J, are set to be recorded, with an official release planned for January 25.
“I have two riddims dropping by the end of the year,” says Lagikz. “It was my passion all along, but it’s challenging because artists often cross over to other projects, so I’ve been more focused on the graphics and video side of things.”
“Around seven years ago, I was making beats,” he explained. “Back then, I would just record with artists, using beats from young composers.”
A prominent figure in Jamaica’s film industry, Lagikz whose real name is Nathaniel Kerr, has worked with top names in the music scene. He directed Teejay’s viral video for "Drift", Popcaan's "Life Is Real", "Ex-Boyfriend" by Spice from her "Mirror 25" album and recently shot the "Liff Up" video for Beenie Man and Skeng.
