Leo Messi is reportedly close to agreeing on a contract extension with Inter Miami that would keep him at the club for another season and see him lead the team into their new home at Miami Freedom Park in 2025.

According to The Athletic, the 37-year-old is expected to sign the extension, though final terms are still being worked out.

Messi initially joined Inter Miami as a free agent in July 2023 on a deal running through the end of 2025. However, sources in the U.S. familiar with the situation say talks to extend his stay are in advanced stages.

Inter Miami is set to relocate from the Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale to a new 25,000-capacity venue at Miami Freedom Park next year.
