Major releases in the standouts songs of the week

Vybz Kartel makes a virtual appearance, Ding Dong is ready for the summer, Jada gets steamy in a new collab and Jahvillani delivers again. These are some of the songs that stood out this week


Some major releases over the weeknd


Despite the heavy rains that impacted Jamaica over the weekend, a package full of potential hit songs caught our ears. Who has the next banger, who will deliver another summer anthem, and who already placed at the top of the trending charts? It's all here.


Rvssian Ft. Vybz Kartel & Trippie Red – "Sixteen"

The Renowned producer, Rvssian pays tribute to Vybz Kartel in a new single where the currently incarcerated deejay uses his lyrical prowess to create yet another masterpiece. "Me a di G.O.A.T, me no want turn no mutton. Ya me breda eno tarik and me lo'ya", The ‘World Boss’ spits in a brilliant way that shows his loyalty to his fellow producer. Together with American rapper Trippie Red, they showcase a new single that is already placed at #10 on YouTube trending in Jamaica. Leading video director, Shane Creative used a new technology to make Kartel's character appear in the music video which was taken during the rapper's visit to Jamaica.



Ding Dong – "Clean"

Ding Dong who is no stranger to activating the dancefloor has once again ignited the imminent summer with ‘Clean’. "Me and my friends dem clean", sings the deejay while he and his Ravers Clavers crew deliver some new dance routine to match the catchy lyrics that appears in the music video taken by film director Lagikz Supreme.



Valiant – "Corruption"

Valiant continues to work hard, stay consistent, as well as trying creatively to preserve what he has gained so far in the dancehall space. The ‘Barbies’ Singer is back once again with another track for the ladies. His versatility, unmatched energy, wordplay and his self-titled ‘chopper gospel’ genre, is still going strong.



Jada Kingdom, Ninecea – "Turn Me On"

Jada Kingdom and Ninecea have finally released their highly anticipated collaboration, since some videos from the video shoot went viral in the social media space. This release shows how well Jada Kingdom's distinct voice can fit so seamlessly with her lyrics, vibes, and this music video to make a concept so believable. The song has already caught the 2nd spot on Youtube trending and on the path to becoming another summer anthem for Jada.



Shenseea – "Sold Out"

The international dancehall superstar, who has already made her mark overseas, returned to her original sound with a single that shows once again her lyrical ability. "Sold Out" garnered 1 Million views in one day, and it's the 2nd biggest debut from a Jamaican artiste on Youtube this year. The biggest debut was "Curious" (1.4 MILLION), also from Shenyeng.


Skillibeng – "Know Why"

Skillibeng has been as relevant and consistent in his recent releases as he has ever been since he burst on the scene. His typical flow and militant lyrics once again is evident on this fiery track.



Popcaan – "Freshness" "Dem know my style", Popcaan sings in the opening verse of his ‘Freshness’, a single which was released 4 months ago on the Unruly Boss’s last album, ‘Great Is He’. After singing about his flashy lifestyle, he displays it in an official visual that was filmed in London, with the rising talent, Byron Messia making a surprise appearance in the music video.



Jahvillani – "Gad Speed"

Jahvillani gets back in the mix. The Wildside artiste, who is about to release his second album ‘Re(Tro)Spect’, teases some singles that will generate much attention towards him. The talented Singjay / deejay from the north coast once again demonstrates his lyrical ability with an unprecedented speedy flow.



Nadg – "We Run The Grung (Refix)"

Recording artiste Nadg finally drops the video for his viral hit, ‘We Run The Grung’ - the refix on the popular Busta Rhymes beat, that gained momentum for the Jamaican artiste who has now matched it with a clean visual including the set of dancers that made the viral dance moves for the popular single.



LaaLee Ft. Chi Ching Ching – "Money Talk"

Summer is a good time for dancing songs. Two entertainers who are masters of that niche market joined forces for a new single produced by Gold Up – the label responsible for the viral song ‘Bird’ by Laalee. Laalee is known widely for his dance moves and energetic vibes, and Chi Ching Ching is rooted from the dancefloors before transitioning to an artiste and with both combining on a track; should bring more fun, vibes and energy to Dancehall.



Rajahwild – "Searching For Goones"

RajahWild continues to show progress with his growth as an artiste. The young talent comes with a slightly different style; this time the lyrics catching our attention, as would his customary flow. Accompanied with a music video by KD Visulas; RajahWild finds himself again on the trending charts and continues to gain momentum in 2023.



Jahmiel Ft. Rosh Reign – "If I"

Jahmiel and upcoming female artiste, Rosh Reign deliver a sweet song with a captivating beat to complement each other wonderfully in the chorus and verses. Rosh's silky voice blends beautifully with Jahmiel's vibey sound for a simple love song. Jahmeil has made a career out of these types of content.
