Former Manchester United wonderkid Mason Greenwood has reportedly completed the necessary paperwork to commit his international future to Jamaica.

The United academy product is enjoying an outstanding season at Marseille, having scored 12 goals so far and playing a crucial role under head coach Roberto De Zerbi. The French club currently sits second in Ligue 1, and Greenwood's stellar form recently earned him the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award.

Since signing from Manchester United on a five-year contract in a deal worth up to €31.6 million, Greenwood has exceeded expectations. De Zerbi had set a pre-season target of 15 goals for the forward, and Greenwood is well on his way to surpassing that milestone. He currently leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 12 goals, ahead of Bradley Barcola (PSG) and Jonathan David (Lille), who have 11 goals each, followed by Ousmane Dembele (PSG) with 10.

The former Manchester United star leads Ligue 1 in shots on goal, both on target (26) and overall (57). Additionally, he ranks among the league's top performers in several key areas, including being the fourth most dribbled (37), the seventh most creative (68 chances created), and the eighth most cleared (77 times). His exceptional performances have made him a standout player at the Stade Vélodrome.

According to the Daily Star, Greenwood has decided to close the door on representing England and has officially switched his international allegiance to Jamaica.

The decision comes after the Football Association made it clear that Greenwood would not be considered for selection again, effectively ending his hopes of adding to the solitary cap he earned in 2020.
