English striker Eddie Nketiah, who has represented England from the U18s to the senior team, remains eligible to switch international allegiances. Nketiah is also eligible to play for Ghana, but according to reports new Jamaica boss Steve McClaren is keen to convince him to represent Jamaica instead.
Nketiah recently made a £25 million move from Arsenal to Crystal Palace, with hopes that regular starts could boost his chances of returning to the England squad.
While his senior career hasn't yet matched his youth-level success, including a strong loan spell at Leeds, Nketiah's potential remains high. He recorded 35 goals and assists in 40 matches for Arsenal's U21s and 19 in 17 games for England's U21s. Crystal Palace may be where he finally fulfills that potential.
Meanwhile, Jamaica's Leon Bailey's comeback to the national squad might be delayed due to a recent injury. The Aston Villa winger suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's 2-1 victory over Leicester. "It's a hamstring issue. I don’t know exactly how bad his injury is. He had to come off the pitch," explained Villa's boss, Unai Emery. "Hopefully, when we return, Jaden could be available, but Leon might not be."
