Popcaan, a recipient of two consecutive Best Reggae Act awards in 2015 and 2016, is now vying for his ninth MOBO nomination. Shenseea, who made history in 2021 as the first woman to claim the MOBO Best Reggae Act, secures her third nomination.
Valiant, Kabaka Pyramid, Byron Messia and Destra Garcia are all debutants in the MOBO nomination lineup.
In 2022, the 'Best Caribbean Music Act' category was introduced, supplanting the 'Best Reggae Act' category for the 25th edition of the awards.
The laureate will be determined by the MOBO Awards' expert committee, maintaining the tradition of recognizing outstanding black talent in the UK music scene since the awards' inception by Kanye King in 1996.
