Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles speaks his mind on whether he would feel comfortable competing at the Grand Slam Track event in Jamaica

Michael Johnson's Grand Slam Track has announced its 2025 schedule, kicking off with the first meet in Kingston, Jamaica, from April 4-6. The series will then move to Miami (May 2-4), Philadelphia (May 30-June 1), and conclude in Los Angeles from June 27-29.
Tickets for the Kingston leg range from US$10 to US$60, making the event accessible for fans eager to witness top-tier track and field action.
While Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles has yet to confirm his participation, the series has already secured big names like Gabby Thomas, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Masai Russell, and Lyles' rivals Kenny Bednarek and Fred Kerley. However, Lyles' response to a fan query hinted at scheduling conflicts and potential concerns about running in Jamaica, following online controversies involving his fiancé, Junelle Bromfield.
“With everything that’s happened with Noah & his fiancé I wonder if he’d race in Jamaica?? I would buy a ticket if you announced running in GST Jamaica,” a fan asked Lyles on X (formerly Twitter) after tickets for the meet went on sale Friday.
In response, Lyles replied, “I will keep that in mind. Unfortunately, the track meet is already in a weird spot for my training. But I will definitely keep it in mind if we can make it work.”
Despite Lyles’ uncertainty, excitement for the Grand Slam Track's debut remains strong, as fans look forward to seeing how Johnson's groundbreaking league will transform the track and field scene.
