Top Olympic champions among 12 nominated for 2024 World Athletics Athlete of the Year awards, voting runs until October 27

Olympic 100m champions Julien Alfred and Noah Lyles, along with 200m Olympic gold medalists Leslite Tebogo and Gabby Thomas, and 400m hurdles champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, are among the 12 athletes nominated for the 2024 World Athletics Track Athlete of the Year awards.
The list also includes 10 Olympic champions such as Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis, Ryan Crouser, Nafi Thiam, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, and Tara Davis-Woodhall.
Fan voting will account for 25% of the results, with the World Athletics Council contributing 50% and the World Athletics Family 25%. Voting closes on October 27, and the top two in each category will move on to a final round of voting on November 4 to decide the Male and Female World Athlete of the Year.
Additional awards include the Rising Star Athletes, Coaching Achievement, Woman of the Year, and more.
