World 200m champion and Olympic favorite Shericka Jackson suffered a late-race injury on Tuesday during the Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix, raising concerns in Jamaica just two weeks before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Jackson, leading the race and nearing the finish line, suddenly pulled up and appeared in discomfort as she exited the track. The 200 meters race was won by St Lucia's Julian Alfred, who clocked an impressive 22.16 seconds.

"Cramp in the hamstring, she will be working on it," her physiotherapist Troy Evans shared on Instagram, attempting to ease concerns about the sprinter, who will turn 30 next week.

Evans, who also serves as the physiotherapist for rising star Kishane Thompson, praised the sprint sensation who clocked an impressive 9.91 seconds to win his first international meet this season, establishing himself as a serious contender for a medal in the 100m.

The Jamaican team is already dealing with the absence of Elaine Thompson-Herah for the Paris Games. The reigning two-time Olympic champion in the 100m and 200m recently announced a small tear in her Achilles tendon.

Jackson holds three of the four fastest times ever in the women's 200m, with her personal best of 21.41 seconds set during her gold medal run at last summer's World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. She is inching closer to breaking Florence Griffith Joyner's record of 21.34 seconds set at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
