Dancehall giants Popcaan and Chronic Law are kicking off the new year with a powerful anthem, "Kick It Wid Myself," set to drop on January 3. The track is produced by Drop Top Records in collaboration with Unruly Entertainment and 1Law Entertainment.
Following their 2024 hit collaboration "St. Thomas Native," which marked their first-ever joint collab, the deejays return with a track that showcases their unique artistry. Drenched in Popcaan's signature melodic flair and Chronic Law's introspective, relatable storytelling, the anthem explores themes of self-reliance and resilience. With lyrics emphasizing the necessity of standing alone in the face of disloyalty, both artists confidently assert their ability to "kick it" by themselves.
"The start of the year is the perfect time to clear your energy and focus on what matters. It’s for everyone who’s had to deal with fake people in their lives. The message is simple - know your worth and never settle for bad energy", shared the Unruly Boss.
Chronic Law echoed a similar sentiment, emphasizing, "The people will love this one because it’s real. This song speaks to staying grounded and true to yourself."

Building on the overwhelming success of "St. Thomas Native"—a heartfelt anthem celebrating their shared hometown, which has garnered over 31 million views on YouTube—"Kick It Wid Myself" continues the momentum for Popcaan and Chronic Law.
The deejays recently faced tensions with Downsound Entertainment CEO and event promoter Skatta Burrell during the historic Freedom Street concert on New Year's Eve, which marked the highly anticipated return of dancehall icon Vybz Kartel. In response, Popcaan later issued an official statement to clarify the situation.
