Shortly after the success of his annual Unruly Fest in Jamaica last Friday, Jamaican dancehall superstar Popcaan pleasantly surprised fans with a new mixtape titled 'Best Mood.' This 15-track compilation, executive produced by Unruly Entertainment, was dropped on December 27th.

Featuring the recent single 'Heavy' among others, the mixtape boasts a diverse range of tracks, offering both aggressive tones like 'Beretta' and 'Gun Necessary' aimed at those challenging the Unruly Boss, as well as more melodic tunes such as 'Freaky Gyal' and 'Always Welcomed,' produced by the emerging Guyanese label Slingerz Records, catering to a female audience. Notably, the mixtape includes Popcaan's first-ever collaboration with fellow dancehall artist Shane O on the track 'Mad Head.'

The eagerly awaited remix 'Tequila Shots,' featuring rapper Fivio Foreign, Vybz Kartel, and Chronic Law, is also part of the mixtape's dynamic tracklist. Produced by a roster of well-known names such as Anjublaxx, Dane Ray, Fanatix, and Red Boom, the mixtape offers a variety of beats, showcasing Popcaan's versatility.

"This is the first time working with Popcaan in terms of producing for him, but we have booked him before for a few big events in Guyana, and always maintained a solid relationship with Poppy since the launching of his career", said Kevin Balgobin of Slingerz Records.

This release follows Popcaan's fifth studio album, 'Great He Is,' released earlier this year on January 27th. With no plans to slow down, the dancehall star is already hard at work on his next studio album scheduled for a 2024 release.
