Producing tracks for some of the biggest names in the music industry, rising talent YvngFrezh (pronounced "Young Fresh") is making significant strides in the Jamaican music scene.

The driving force behind YFR Records, the producer has quickly earned a reputation for his exceptional work with notable names such as Romeich Entertainment, Spice, Byron Messia, and more. "It's always a sense of accomplishment to work with giants in the industry; I couldn’t be happier with how far my work has gone," said the rising producer, whose given name is Romell Clarke.

"I have been playing music since I was a kid; however, I started taking it seriously at a very young age, around 14," he shared with Kaboom Magazine. "Initially, I began as a musician, playing bass guitar and drums. In high school, I traveled a lot locally and abroad, playing drums for my high school band, Knox College, which is where I fell deeply in love with music as a whole."

YvngFrezh shared that his creative process is deeply influenced by his surroundings and mood. "Making beats for me is usually just about vibes—you can always tell when something is good based on the instinct of how it makes you feel," he explained. "Everything around me inspires me, from nature to anything I see on social media."

"The new generation is tapping into new sounds and different ideas"

With "90z" by dancehall star Byron Messia and Inna Dem Head Juggling—which he created for Romeich and features tracks such as Valiant's "Motorcade," Stalk Ashley's "Dutty Casamigos," and Ding Dong's "Bup Bup Bup"—YvngFrezh has already showcased some of his biggest projects to date. Additionally, he became a Billboard producer, and his contributions to Spice's Mirror 25 album further solidified his position as a rising force in the industry.

While recently joining forces with Mxssivh, Najeeriii, and ShotbyDeth on new single, "Ravin", Clarke expressed his admiration for the direction the new generation is taking dancehall. "I love the direction it is going in, creativity-wise. The new generation is tapping into new sounds and different ideas, which should help propel the genre forward," he shared.

YvngFrezh has expressed admiration for the work of several young artists, highlighting Skillibeng, Valiant, DJ Mac, and Chronic Law. "All for different reasons," he shared. Reflecting on the role of technology in shaping modern music, he added, "Everything is accessible to our generation, so really, technology is our number one tool, as it really should be."

Inspired by producers Noah '40' Shebib, Alrick Wignal, and Neil Wisdom, YvngFrezh credits them with fostering his growth as a musician. With a rapidly expanding portfolio of standout collaborations, he is solidifying his reputation as one of the most innovative and promising producers in the Jamaican music landscape.
