Jamaican reggae star Protoje released his new 5-track EP, The Jamaican Situation, on Friday, October 18, via Ineffable Records and his In.Digg.Nation Collective.
This includes the latest singles, "Barrel Bun," featuring a video directed by Samo Kush, and "80's Wild," where Protoje boldly calls out politicians through his powerful lyrics.
Known for addressing social issues through his music, Protoje continues to highlight the struggles facing Jamaica, fearlessly sharing his views on the country's political and social climate. The EP underscores his dedication to using music as a platform for change and awareness.
Featuring a collaboration with Jahshii on the track "Where We Come From," which has garnered 1.3 million views to date, the EP also includes production from IzyBeats, Iotosh, and Protoje himself.
Music videos for "30 Million," "Where We Come From," and "Mariposa" have also been released earlier this year. Additionally, the EP serves as Side A of the soundtrack for Protoje's upcoming film, The Jamaican Situation.
