Rani Rastaciti Stars in Spice's Latest Music Video 'Ex Boyfriend'

The rising recording artist makes a guest appearance in the latest music video by Spice: "She suggested it because of my resemblance to her ex-boyfriend"

Dancehall star, Spice, unveiled the third single and music video, ‘Ex Boyfriend’ from her highly anticipated album, ‘Mirror 25′ set to release on August 9, 2024.


The empowering single harmoniously blends Spice's influential dancehall sound with a unique pop infusion, creating a mesmerizing sound that enhances its empowering message. Rising recording artist Rani Rastaciti makes a guest appearance in the music video, impersonating Spice's ex.


"The idea was Spice’s. She suggested getting me for the video because of my resemblance to her ex-boyfriend, who is also the subject of the song," explained the St. Thomas native singjay.



The captivating new single, written by Spice, serves as a powerful anthem for women’s empowerment. Spice uses her influence as an artist to address issues of domestic violence and toxicity in relationships. "Working with Spice was fun and educational. As an upcoming artist, it was a firsthand experience of how an established international superstar operates. I’ve never had to change clothes over seven times for a video shoot of my own," he shared. "Spice is a great person, and the chemistry was magical. She really did turn my caterpillars into butterflies."


Rani Rastaciti, who began pursuing music professionally a few years ago, draws on a wide range of musical inspirations and has recently found success with singles such as "Choppa Pain," "JBL," and "Fuss Chop," among others. "I’m now reaping what I’ve been working towards, so I keep working the momentum is surely growing since the release of 'Choppa Pain', 'Fuss Chop', 'Sauce', 'JBL', just to name a few. It feels good passing by communities and to hear my songs being played keeps me going", the artiste resonated.



Looking ahead, Rani Rastaciti, born Shirquan Harrison, has several projects set to be released soon. "You can expect more great music, big collaborations, shows, EPs—in one word, greatness," he said. He also paid tribute to his late mom, adding, "Big up mummy and God. Keep streaming the songs."
